Custom Screen Printing

Here at Pacifica T-Shirts we not only specialize in embroidery, but we also specialize in custom screen printing.

Screen printing is also known as "silk screen printing" because a screen made of silk was previously used in the process, but the screens are now mostly nylon. The process is very interesting.

Custom screen printing includes making a thin screen of your design which is then stretched over a frame, making a sort of box. The screen is made in such a way as to allow color to pass through only in certain areas. The frame and screen are then placed over an object like a shirt or a mug, with the screen side being closest to the object, but without touching the object with the screen. An ink color of your choosing is placed at one end of the frame and a bar is dragged from the side with the ink to the other side to fill all the open spaces in the screen. A rubber blade is then dragged across the screen with enough pressure to bend the screen down to touch the object as the blade passes. This can be done with multiple layers of color to achieve the look that you want! The result is professional and beautiful.
